Do you watch the TV show Orange is the New Black?
Well, even if you don't, we have a special treat for you.
We're thrilled to announce that the Environmental Voter Project is partnering with Vote for Home, a great new video project where well-known musicians and artists discuss the importance of voting as a way to address the impacts of climate change.
Check out their first 5-minute episode - just released today - where Taryn Manning (one of the stars of Orange is the New Black) focuses on East Porterville, CA, where thousands of Americans are surviving off of bottled water due to the impact of climate change on the California drought.
Did you notice that they ask for people to sign our Environmental Voter Pledge?
Well, there's a reason for that. Studies show that when environmentalists sign this simple pledge, they end up turning out to vote at much higher rates than they did prior to signing the pledge.
In other words, this simple action can dramatically increase the number of environmentalists who vote. And when millions of new environmentalists start voting, politicians will have no choice but to listen.
We're so excited about this partnership with Vote for Home, and we hope that you'll share this video with your friends.
It's time for all of us to start voting for our homes.
